Dr. Pedro Fernandes chose radiology because it is a field that brings together anatomy, pathology and clinical reasoning, the parts of Medicine he likes most. He also likes working with technology to help both the patient and the doctor who ordered the exam.
He graduated in Medicine from the University of Brasília (UnB) in 2001 and completed his residency in Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging at Fundação Hospitalar do Distrito Federal, at Hospital Regional de Taguatinga, in 2004. He holds a specialist title from the Brazilian College of Radiology (CBR), of which he is a member.
He has been at Vita Imagem since 2004 and works at Torre Marechal. He performs CT, ultrasound with Doppler, mammography, X-ray and image guided procedures, such as biopsies. He has a special interest in women’s imaging exams and obstetric and fetal anatomy ultrasound. He sees patients in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
Born in Brasília, he has lived in Foz do Iguaçu for 23 years. Besides Medicine, he has volunteered in Conscientiology since age 16 and enjoys writing: he has published two books. He has collected books since his teenage years, and his favorite hobby is organizing his own library and hunting for rare works in second hand bookshops in Brazil and abroad for the research behind the texts he is writing. He also enjoys music and exercises at the gym and with practices such as yoga and pilates.
