About the exam
CT uses multiple X-ray images processed by a computer to create detailed cross sections of organs, bones and blood vessels.
With a multidetector CT scanner and 3D reconstruction, we perform more than 40 types of exam (head, orbits, face, neck, chest, spine, joints, abdomen and pelvis), including imaging of the coronary arteries without invasive procedures.

Before the exam
- In pregnant women, CT is only done on some areas of the body, with a medical indication and the abdomen protected by a lead apron. If you might be pregnant, tell the team before the exam.
- The exam can be done with or without contrast, according to your doctor’s order.
- Patients aged 70 or older who will receive contrast must bring their urea and creatinine results.
- If you have allergies or asthma, tell us when booking, so the nursing team can contact you before the exam.
- Fasting and other instructions vary according to the exam and are given when you book.

What to bring
- Medical order (authorized, if through a health plan), photo ID and CPF. They are required at the time of the exam.
- If needed, the health plan form, card and authorized form.
- Previous exams of the area to be examined (if not done at Vita Imagem).
- Patients under 18 must be with their parent or legal guardian, bringing an ID, school card or birth certificate.

On the day of the exam
- For some exams you need to stay in your underwear or undressed, wearing a clinic gown.
- You will be positioned in the machine by the radiology technician or the nursing technician.
- Stay still in the position you are given, breathing calmly.
